Winston Apple is a retired teacher (civics and economics) who continues to educate through his political activities. He is a member of the Democratic National Committee. Prior to his teaching career and since his retirement, he has enjoyed a career as a singer-songwriter and performer. He was inducted into the Kansas Music Hall of Fame in 2015.
